Keilani and I drove south on 75 to find a bike trail. It didn't take long to realize that we were only minutes from Southern Methodist University, where I will begin grad school in just a couple of weeks. I had heard about and seen pictures of SMU's beautiful and manicured campus, but had never seen it for myself. I thought aloud, "It's time to familiarize myself!"

As we navigated our way around the red brick historic building on campus my heart began to race with excitement. It all began to feel real again. Oh, it felt real when I graduated. And it felt real when I was accepted at SMU... but the summer has allowed plenty of time to relax and forget about exams and papers! And it felt good to "feel real" again.

I had planned a trip to campus later in the day, but didn't realize the bike trail was so close. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera. Keilani looked at me after I snapped this shot with my phone and said, "Your new school is beautiful, Mom!"
I smiled and responded, "Yes. Yes, it is!"

The next two years will consist of the classes I need to become a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been dreaming about these next two years for a long while now, and I'm excited! It feels good to reach this goal!
I'm sure I'll stress (a lot) along the way, but for right now... in this very moment…
It's feels great!

A summer of relaxation with family - what more could you ask for. Keep on enjoying your stress-free living just a little longer. Hitting the books will come soon enough.
